Enterprise Architecture

Many organizations have become very effective at building software systems to solve specific business problems. However, as the number of individual systems within the corporation continues to grow, the organization is, often unknowingly, building a collection of applications that will present several problems and risks to the overall organization. It is often the case that such organizations evolve into a collection of highly dependent stove-piped software systems.

OSG conducts an extensive assessment of the existing technologies and architectures, interviews key stakeholders to align business capabilities, produces current state view showing the various systems in the enterprise, their dependencies, and the integration techniques used. We develop a roadmap that explains the end-state vision of how the enterprise should evolve and how the systems should work together as a whole to solve the various business problems. The roadmap included clear linkage between the strategic plan, mission, business processes and enterprise architecture to capital IT decision making and to IT investment planning. OSG uses enterprise architectural frameworks that includes components that addressed business processes, information flow and relationships, applications, data descriptions (enterprise domain model), and the technology infrastructure.

A set of overall architectural principles is developed along with a review process for individual projects to ensure their compliance with the principles and with the enterprise architecture. Finally OSG creates the governance, planning and implementation strategies and oversees and drives the implementation along with the client's internal resources.

Project Management

OSG provides PMI-certified Project Managers proficient in the knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to create clear direction, efficiency, timely response, and quality outcomes for large-scale IT Projects. Thriving under the pressure to “Do It, Do It Right, Do It Right Now,” OSG PMs control costs, develop timelines, procure resources, manage risk, and facilitate communications.

Systems Analysis

Implementing an Enterprise Architecture begins at the whiteboard. OSG Systems Analysts map the client’s current capabilities and consult with Senior Management to understand the business strategy. From a Needs Assessment and Gap Analysis, a Project Roadmap is developed that supports that strategy while delivering the promised efficiencies of the Enterprise Architecture IT model.

Software Development

Completion of the Enterprise Architecture model will necessitate software development to integrate disparate systems, web-enable and extend legacy applications, evert user interfaces to face the client, construct new functionality, and implement Enterprise Portals and Content Management Systems. OSG engineers employ development best practices and proven methodologies to expedite this process, minimize redundancies, and enable future expansion and migration.

Configuration Management

AT OSG, Configuration Management (CM) is not version control of installed software licenses. CM is the practice of controlling development by controlling the information about the product - "get the blueprint right, then ensure the software conforms to the blueprint." OSG e ngineers are skilled in CM best practices and tools. Implemented at the project’s outset, CM methodologies realize cost efficiencies, minimize rework, and improve produce quality.

Quality Engineering

Insuring the integrity of developed software begins at the design specification and proceeds, using Quality Engineering best practices, through the development process to final Client Approval. OSG Quality Engineers are instilled with the knowledge and training to mandate QE process and develop a project Test Data Framework to generate reliable supporting data for every test phase including unit tests, string tests, and performance tests.
